Self-motivated and goal-oriented, I am a Creative Industries graduate with expertise in a mix of interior design, digital design, visual culture and business. My graduating class, 2017, was the first of its kind in North America. This has opened many doors for me.

 

My first opportunity to work in a creative industry was as an intern in an event planning company. Shortly after graduating, I took the summer off to travel to 5 continents. This experience was like none other and I was inspired by many different cultures. Being bilingual I have always been drawn to cultures intertwining.

 

My first job in the design industry was with a real estate team staging all of their listings and making sure that any renovations recommendations were made. As director of staging & design, it was right up my alley!

 

Another huge passion of mine has always been synchronized swimming. While I competed at a national level throughout high school, I continue to swim at a Masters level to this day. In the summer of 2023 I travelled to Japan to compete at the Masters Worlds Championships. This passion also encouraged me to start my very own swimming lesson business in 2013: Swim with Katie! Having had a business grow from a few kids to a client list of over 85, this inspired me to start my own staging & design business: KG Design.

Since starting KG Design in 2018, I have had the pleasure of working with many homeowners and business owners. My services currently include home staging, personal shopping, colour and design consultations, redecorating, full renovation/redesign and renderings.
